Save the Cheerleader. Save the World. Part 2

posted by mihow on October 30th, 2006

A few (more) things about Heroes:

1). I had a thought tonight that the Niki Sanders might actually be Sylar. Either way, she appears to be a mixture of both good and evil. If that’s the case, I’m wondering which side will win. And I can’t help but wonder what her role in all of this might be.

2). I don’t think the cheerleader’s father is evil after all. But I can’t back that up. It’s just a hunch.

3). Micah has two parents with superpowers; I can’t wait to see what the writers do with him.

4). Also, the pixie chick, aka Eden, totally in on it just like I thought.

5). I have a growing fondness for Hiro’s sidekick.

What a truly refreshing show. But I’m dangerously close to coming up with plots and ideas that aren’t there because I like it so much.

ARGH… the DVR cut off the last 5 minutes of the show.

I am completely hooked. I agree with you re: #2 and #3.

  2. mihow Says:

Trying to remember the last five minutes. You didn’t miss too much. They did that wrap up thing they do each and every week. Where that voice over comes on. You saw Niki and her hubby get into that fight, right?

  3. jenblossom Says:

Yep, did see the fight. The last thing I saw was Isaac opening the door.

  4. greg Says:

nikki/silar….interesting, the only thing that sways me away from that is that nikki shreds her victims and the silar seems to chop the tops of heads off and kills in a feaky-methodical way. i’m starting to think we haven’t met silar yet( unless like i thought before, it’s the pixie chick)

  5. mihow Says:

Greg, if it’s the pixie chick, that would be completely insane. I’m not sure why, though.

She does rip them apart. Totally true. Silar froze someone’s brain, didn’t he/she? Chopped the top of someone’s head off, right?

  6. tobyjoe Says:

Sylar = pixie gal is an interesting idea.

  7. mihow Says:

I was totally reading a lot into her name last night: Eden. See what I mean? I’m going to go overboard with this show.

  8. chandler Says:

didn’t we see silar in the FBI station when the what’s her name (from Carnival) almost got killed and the mind-reader dude shot at silar? I think silar eats the brains of super dudes and absorbs their powers. That’s my theory, i also think silar is too insane to act normal, but it would be cool it’s the pixie chick (from Brick).

  9. chandler Says:

however, the voice over at the beginning and end has got to go. There is just some terrible crap in there.

  10. mihow Says:

Did they definitely say that that guy was Sylar? (Is it Silar or Sylar? I am unsure). I thought maybe I assumed as much but it wasn’t 100%. Good point, however.

I agree about the voice over.

  11. chandler Says:

no they didn’t say that was him. I just assumed it was, sorry. You barley saw him though so it could still be Eden.

  12. greg Says:

i can’t remember back to that episode very clearly, but it could’a been that dark being?........i just have my fingers crossed that it’s the pixie chick, just because she would be the ultimate demon in sheep’s clothing.

and did i miss something, but did nikki???? you know, not to be a spoiler for those who haven’y seen last night….......? did she, you know? did her hubby, you know???

  13. mihow Says:

WHAT?! kill her? I seriously doubt it. I think he stopped her heart. Not sure. Although, even if she is dead, Hiro can come back and save her. ;]

  14. mihow Says:

Actually, Hiro can pretty much undo anything we’ve seen thus far on the show.

that reminds me of a movie I saw once that still makes me feel weird: Primer. It’s about time travel but it takes it to an entirely new and severely f’ed up level.

(At least I think it was called Primer.)

  15. deana Says:

This show is incredible! Its a 1 hour movie every week. I love it. I wonder though…with the Nikki split personality, could there be a dark side to the Heroes?

  16. Tommy Says:

I dunno about Hereos. I mean I like it an all, but isn’t just a little too “leading-you-by-the-nose” for you? Lost was a smash because of the mysterious nature of it all, but Hereos kinda just tells you everything and you can see what’s going to happen overall for the most part.

  17. Chris M. Says:

I think that Heroes is a lot deeper than any of us are imagining at this point. Sure, there are things that you can quickly figure out, but other things that are hidden, and won’t come out for a long time, and are sure to take us all by surprise. Plus, what is with the comparisons to Lost? They aren’t even similar!

Heroes has me hooked not only for the action, suspense and intrigue, but also for its theories on evolution, gathering, and even moral issues brought up by Hiro. I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!

  18. greg Says:

they alluded to Hiro’s ability to come back and save someone’s life, a re-do i think they called it…...now i’m starting to think that peter actually died in the explosion and all Hiro could tell him in the subway was to save the cheerleader as to not scare him, but to motivate him.

the one thing that does however annoy me is this strange and loose connection to (an)evolution. it’s an unusual link in the story line. maybe it’s intentional and i have yet to figure out,but for now, it’s escaping me. hero’s historically have been mutants, changed by some external force or were from another world. evolution is supposed to be a change over time, not an all at once kind of thing….especially not an all at once just in time to save the world kind of thing. because of this i find it hard to accept…..it’s funny that i can suspend my disbelief for each of their powers with ease, but try and define their powers with evolution and i lose it. weird huh?

  19. emanni Says:

I love this show, but I have never heard of somone named Sylar? when do they mention this boogie person?

  20. jenblossom Says:

Oh my god. Somebody just posted a link to this on a message board I belong to

    This guy is seriously disturbed.

  21. mihow Says:

Oh my dear sweet jesus, Jen, thank you for sharing.

Which means – everytime she has sex, she’s a virgin as her hymen will repair itself. Meaning that everytime she’s fucked, its like she’s being fucked for the very first time.

    WTF?!

  22. null Says:

Micah shows his powersthe last few minutes tonight

  23. Trini Dave... Says:

Now that u met him, do you guys think he’s evil? I do believe that he’ll be da bomb…..for now.

Greg, I like the point of Peter's death. Kool.

I love the fact that thi week’s episode was more of a connection issue that another full rush hour piece. It answered a lotta questions. Great thinking.

    The show's da bomb.
  24. George Says:

I think Micah’s power might be very high intelligence. Not very creative of me to come up with that one, but he seems very smart.

I was a little disappointed by the show tonight, because the comercials said “Find out why saving the cheerleader will save the world” all week.

We didn’t find out why, just how. I don’t think that “crying wolf” is a sustainable marketing tactic. At least I hope they don’t keep doing that.

  25. peter Says:

silar absorbs the superpowers of the heros he kills, hes not eden, hes a watch maker. Micah has the superpower of a technopath, he can manipulate technology, such as in episode 13 he uses his powers to withdraw several thousand dollars from an atm without a card. edens real name is sarah ellis

  26. mysticmama420 Says:

i just wanna say heroes ROCKS!!! its hard to believe that peter is claires uncle huh??? thats pretty cool. cant wait to see how that relationship developes.
