My Brother Watched This and Said, "That's Disgusting!"
posted by mihow on June 13th, 2007
I have been trying to capture this for weeks now and I still haven’t had much luck. I thought that my son would eventually get a kick (hehe) out of how much he abused me while in the womb. This kid moves like you wouldn’t believe.
In the video, Tobyjoe can be seen in the background at the computer, and David Letterman is on the TeeVee. And that dark ring around my bellybutton is my once small, now GIANT, tattoo. And I’m not that yellow in real life. Or orange. Without further ado, here is a very short, uneventful video of my belly getting kicked and kneaded from the inside out.
P.S. If you can’t see anything kindly let me know so I can take this thing down and not waste my husband’s precious bandwidth.
P.P.S Yes, we currently have a TV in our bedroom, which is going bye-bye once the baby is born.

Ow.

It’s so bizarre to watch that happen.
We used to set things on my wife’s belly to see if the kids could knock things over.

Ohhhh, that’s awesome.

Delurking: I think that is awesome! I loved when my daughter did this. It’s a feeling you just can’t describe.
Also, I know it’s weird but I just had to share, you’ve been on my mind because we adopted a cute orange kitten named Toby this weekend! He came with the name and my daughter wanted to keep it. Cute, huh?

What a great video. I remember being able to see both of my girls when they would move around like that…It was the best feeling! Thanks for sharing!

Boy, your belly really moves! I think my little fetus was kicking along to yours while I watched that, though mine is not quite as obvious yet (more quivery). Amazing, isn’t it?
By the way, what I wouldn’t give to see a picture of your little kitten in the pie crust (or the trash)! Sounds like getting Murray was definitely the right decision for your family (even if he does eat the pie crust you labored over for six hours!).

The Orangemani terrorists have stolen my identity!

you know, you could try vimeo for the video.

tien, what is the difference? I thought about that, but I don’t know what it’s all about. Do tell.

you know what else goes bye-bye when the baby is born?
letterman.

Why would you do a stupid thing like remove the television from your room when the baby’s born? You’re gonna need it to keep you awake and un-bored from the night time feedings. Silly-silly newbie!

Honestly? And I don’t mean to sound like “one of those people” but my kid will not be one of those children raised with a TV in his room. I just won’t allow for it. So, I want to set an example right away. :]

So cool! I was hoping to make out an elbow or a fist or a foot, but I have to admit that little guy is really moving!

aw. i loved it. brought a little tear to the eye. i even had my husband watch it. it’s amazing, isn’t it?

That is great! (LOL) Video evidence is the ultimate corroboration for any mom-inflicted guilt!

That is absolutely amazing. I had no idea that you can see babies move like that (clearly I don’t know much). So cool. Thanks for posting.

Just don’t videotape the eruption.

so I have to agree, I watched a great deal of Conan when nursing Grace. Have a tv where ever you nurse. Thank you for posting this. I was immediately reminded of the feeling and how grace used to do this thing where my right side would form a 90 degree angle. good times.

if you want less movement, put Leno on instead – kid’ll go right to sleep.

haha! And he might become a conservative! Oh no!

This has nothing to do with this topic. I repeat nothing.
I just googled dog ate popsicle stick””, and you name came up as a comment on blurbomat in the top five. I found that amusing. Meg

Man, that brings back memories from only a year ago.
Enjoy the last few weeks. Most people say they suck, but I was so terrified of actually having a baby that I was glad they went slow.
And also enjoy the high expectations for yourself and modelling perfect behaviors… not that I am saying “Ha! You’ll change your mind.” I’m more saying, “You will be surprised at what becomes less important and ‘ideal’ once the baby gets here.” And you know I’m a nitpicky person, so if I say that some things will just evolve and it’s no biggie, then, maybe you’ll believe me.
